Here are five points to consider when applying for awards:
1. First impressions
You have won an award already? What a great way to show to your customers that your business is thriving. A plaque in your reception speaks volumes about you and your business and shows you are genuinely good at what you do.
2. Don’t be shy
Include all your wins in your marketing literature and communication with clients. If you have gained the respect of your business sector, your customers will trust you too.
3. Not successful on this occasion?
Familiarise yourself with what the winners have done in their application and learn from them. Why did they win the award over you? Use their application as a benchmark for your business to work from and try again!
4. Praise your people
Motivating your team is an important business objective and what better way is there than dedicating an award to your team? Receiving an award can make people feel great and that their hard work is appreciated. Even being shortlisted can have the desired effect!
5. Great PR
Not all awards have cash prizes, but often they can offer a level of promotion you might not be able to afford for your business. A nomination, a short list entry and even a win can be invaluable in providing great PR for your business, make sure you capitalise on it. If there is a cash prize, make sure you invest it into the business so you can maintain your winning streak.
