Boost employee engagement in 2015


Your team may be feeling a little deflated that they are back at work after a lovely Christmas break, but here are some tips to boost office moral by engaging with your team.

Communication

Poor communication is often the cause of most team problems. Make sure messages are communicated in a fair and consistent way and regular performance reviews are carried out.

 

Contribution

Allow your team to contribute to ideas by soliciting their opinions and brainstorming ideas to problems as a team. This will help individuals take ownership of new ideas.

 

Recognition

Recognise good behaviour immediately and make feedback specific and personal. Positive feedback can be very powerful. Reward in public and reprimand in private.

 

Responsibility

Communicate that everyone will be held responsible for meeting their commitments and fulfilling their duties. When responsibilities are not met, take the opportunity to learn what went wrong and how to improve things so it never happens again.

 

And finally…

 

Fun

Celebrate birthdays, go out for lunches, and hold fancy dress days and competitions. Often the more fun people have at work, the more productive they become.
