The National Careers Service is holding a careers event at Riverside Stadium, Middlesbrough, between 12.30pm and 4.00pm on Thursday, April 19th.
The event, which will showcase new opportunities in education, training and employment, is aimed primarily at 16 to 24 year-old customers who need guidance in their careers.
It will feature a jobs fair and a range of workshops including confidence-building, CV preparation, interview skills and self-employment, as well as an advice clinic from a team of National Careers Service experts.
Private sector employers, recruitment firms and colleges have been called on to take part in the event, and organisers are keen to hear from other North East employers and education and training providers that would like to get involved and exhibit.
Those who take part will be joined in attendance by the Jobcentre Plus, uniformed services and employers with current vacancies to fill, alongside several high profile colleges, training providers and universities.
Partnership co-ordinator Gail McGuigan said: “It’s really exciting to be launching the National Careers Service here in the North East.
“As there are currently so many changes to employment opportunities in the region, we’re hoping that our event will inspire people in Middlesbrough to develop their existing careers, enter new ones, or even set up businesses on their own.
“Our aim is to show people in the North East that the next step in their careers doesn’t have to be daunting – it can also be fun and extremely exciting.”
