We’ve been working with Redcar Racecourse since April 2014, managing its PR and social media.
Along with all of the other successful feature meetings this season, we recently managed the publicity for one of the racecourse’s most anticipated events of the year: Ladies’ Day on Saturday 20th June, 2015.
We secured excellent pre and post event media coverage with the help of our journalistic contacts and knowledge of local media outlets.
The coverage included:
We support all of Redcar Racecourse’s feature meetings through the power of social media, in particular Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. We chose to focus on these platforms as they allow us to interact, engage and connect with the local community freely.
After a brainstorming session we decided upon the theme of ‘Ladies in Red’. We used this theme as our focus for all social media activity surrounding Ladies’ Day.
Along with the general 2015 #hashtag that we came up with previously ‘#RacingToRedcar’, during a creative team session we decided on #LadiesInREDcar as the event’s official #hashtag.
Social media advertising
We used Facebook and Twitter advertising to subtly reach Redcar Racecourse’s target market. Through social media advertising you can select a specific demographic (from age, location, interests, job title and more) to ensure your target market reach increases.
The advertising reached a total of 65,885 and generated 2,394 results.
Live social media
Like every event, the H&H pack attended Ladies’ Day in order to continue the buzz on social media with live updates and interactions.
As well as this we help the Redcar Racecourse team with any other promotional activity such as handing out goodie bags.
Despite the weather, Ladies’ Day was a huge success and attendance was increased by nearly 1,000 people with the help of successful PR and social media campaigns.
“We have worked alongside Harvey & Hugo since engaging them in 2014. We first approached Harvey & Hugo because we were conscious that we were not making people aware of what Redcar Racecourse had to offer and we wanted to highlight that we are not just about racing and other exciting events taking place alongside the race day. Harvey & Hugo have come up with an organised strategy to ensure that we had exposure in the press and a bigger presence on social media. They have helped to enhance our race days with their original and creative ideas. We have been delighted with the results they have produced. Charlotte Nichols and the team are professional yet approachable and are always a pleasure to have at the racecourse. We would recommend them to any company that is looking to promote themselves.” – Caroline Smith, sales and marketing assistant.
