Darlington-based HR firm, We do HR, expands into new sector

After 14 successful years in business, a Darlington-based human resources and health and safety company has expanded into a new sector.

Family-run We do HR and We do Health and Safety, has launched We do Learning and Development, following phenomenal growth in 2016, which saw it double both its turnover and clientele.

The firm’s new division will provide a variety of bespoke training programmes, focussing primarily on leadership, management, communication, conflict resolution and people related development.

Owner and Managing Director, Alasdair Ross, who set up We do HR in 2003, attributes his business’ success to the integrity of the staff.

“Learning and development is an area I’ve always supported with existing clients and now that We do HR and We do Health and Safety have established a steady growth, it felt like the perfect time to introduce an effective leadership and management development service,” he said.

“We anticipate keen interest in this new area of the firm, as we are known for delivering cost effective programmes that generate tangible results and we can now offer a full service for clients.”

As a result of the expansion, the forward-thinking firm has employed Ishrat Shaheen as We do Learning and Development’s HR, training and development officer.

Having achieved a Master’s degree in HR Management, as well as gaining experience in the training industry, Ishrat brings a wealth of in-depth knowledge to the team.

The enthusiastic newcomer said: “I’m passionate about the business and the way it is growing in regards to HR and development. I like the way the firm values its employees and how it changes the way companies view HR.

“I’m really excited and I can’t wait to deliver training programmes and see how I can help We do Learning and Development grow.”

To mark the firm’s 14th birthday and the launch of We do Learning and Development, the Company hosted a party at Lotus Lounge in Yarm for its employees and clients.

Over the next five years, Alasdair would like to see his business continue to develop and hopes to make further appointments.

He said: “We have experienced 14 fantastic years in business and I can’t wait to see what the firm will achieve in the future. This is a very exciting time for us!”
