Darlington signage company, Screentech is set for expansion

DarlingtonDarlington company, Screentech, which specialises in signage and branding, is set for expansion after doubling its capacity with a £20,000 investment in new technology.

Signs, graphics and screen-print firm Screentech has invested in two 6-head embroidery machines which will enable the Darlington company to create new jobs and grow the embroidery side of the business.

The company has also revamped its website to make it more user friendly, in a move which has already transformed a handful of monthly enquiries into the same amount on a daily basis.

The new machines will double Screentech’s work output and provide better quality images which are more durable than those provided by most rival firms in the sector.

Screentech bought the new machines as part of a package from fellow North East firm Visual Branding – which closed down last year – including the customer database and all designs used by its customers before the company collapsed.

Managing director David Robinson said: “The new investment has provided a great boost to the company and we expect it to allow the embroidery side of the business to take off.

“It will provide us and our customers with reassurance that we are offering much better, quicker and higher quality work than ever before. We now hope to keep on improving as we believe if you stand still, you get left behind.”

Screentech was established in 1985 and lists universities, colleges, sports clubs and retailers amongst its growing portfolio of clients.
