Digital agency helps reality star go global

A North East digital firm has been enlisted by one of the nation’s rising reality TV stars to ensure that the ‘desperate scousewife’ gets more than her fifteen minutes of fame.

The latest regionalised reality series, Desperate Scousewives, was launched by broadcaster E4 last year as Liverpool’s answer to Geordie Shore and The Only Way is Essex.

Among the stars of the E4 show, which focuses on fashion and the Liverpool WAG lifestyle, is Francesca Kearns, who runs her own upmarket fashion boutique.

Darlington-based Fifteen Digital was working with Francesca prior to the show’s first airing to launch the modern and contemporary Miss Francesca Couture website based on the inspirations behind the dresses. Fifteen Digital helped Francesca to portray her creations in an online showcase using elements of 50s’ glamour and modern pop art.

After the success of Desperate Scousewives, Francesca decided she needed an e-commerce site to make sure the business took full advantage of the exposure it would receive during the series and of the high demand for key pieces in her collection – as modelled by Desperate Scousewives star Amanda Harrington.

Faced with an extremely tight deadline by which to get the site up and running before the Christmas episodes, Francesca called on the fast and flexible services of Fifteen Digital yet again.

The result was www.missfrancescacouture.co.uk, which sold 18 dresses within the first few hours of its launch, generating over £12,000 in sales within a matter of weeks, with close to 50,000 visitors from all over the world in just two months.

Fifteen Digital will now maintain an ongoing relationship with Francesca by providing her with marketing support as well as continually updating the website.

Miss Kearns said: “I’m made up with the site, especially as we were working to such a tight timescale. It’s exactly what I wanted. I was after something quirky and girly and they’ve done exactly that.

“We looked at different ideas together and they’ve given me exactly what I needed for my brand. It was all tailor-made for me and it’s great.

“They were really friendly and informal. I’m not exactly computer-literate, but they didn’t make it boring. It was like working with a part of the team and I’m really looking forward to continuing our work with them.”

Sarah Mountford, Fifteen Digital’s business development manager, said: “We are extremely proud to be part of Francesca’s success story, especially when there has been so much time and effort put into it from both her and us.

“The sky’s the limit and we are looking forward to working together by marketing the Miss Francesca Couture brand in the future.”
