After its hugely successful second salon last month in Sunderland, Digital Leaders North East is holding its next salon in Teesside to discuss whether more needs to be done to attack high graduate unemployment rates in the region.
Members of the salon will address key issues relating to graduate employability in the region including ‘Why would a graduate want to stay and work in the region?’ and ‘Are three year degrees out of date and ineffective?’
Gary Coyle, acting chairman of Digital Leaders North East and also the head of Escher Group (UK), said: “The last two salons have been a major success and I am looking forward to the first salon south of the region and addressing a current and pressing issue.
“It’s great to see that people from all sectors are passionate about tackling graduate unemployment in the region and their knowledge and experiences will be invaluable in helping us formulate a structured plan of action.”
The national arm of Digital Leaders is also promoting its annual DL 100 awards, which recognise the top 100 individuals, organisations and products making a difference in the world of Digital Services.
Digital Leaders North East is urging local businesses to nominate inspirational organisations and business leaders in the region that have had a positive impact on the provision of digital technologies and services.
Nominations are now open and the winners will be announced at the National Digital Conference 2014 which will take place in June in London. For more information on the awards, visit: http://digitalleaders.co.uk/dl-50/
