Lotus Lounge, on Yarm High Street, is the brainchild of entrepreneurs Howard Eggleston and Andy Drysdale and will bring upmarket, pan-Asian cuisine to the town for the first time.
The restaurant, located above Hide Bar, will serve up the creations of head chef Martin Moore – who formerly worked as head chef at Seaham Hall’s Ozone Pan Asian restaurant and was executive chef at luxury five star hotel Rockliffe Hall, near Darlington.
Matt Marriott, who previously managed The Keys and Osborne’s Bar in Yarm, said: “We wanted to create a fine dining, pan-Asian experience, which is something that is missing in Yarm and we hope to attract guests from far and wide to the town.
“We’re really excited to be launching the new venue and we believe it will become a leading light on the North East’s high-end restaurant circuit.”
Lotus Lounge will offer diners the chance to sample authentic dishes from across Asia in a relaxed setting featuring deep oak furniture, orchids and Buddha statues.
A roster of VIP guests, including several Premier League footballers and local celebrities, will attend launch evenings on 6th and 7th July from 6.30pm. Here they will be able to enjoy a taster menu, champagne, canapés and a free bar.
