Fridge Productions shortlisted for award

David JinksA successful, North Yorkshire audio visual company was shortlisted for the Northern Digital Awards.

Fridge Productions, based in Saltburn-by-the- Sea, was shortlisted for the category ‘Best Use of Video’, which looks at how effective video is being used within a wider marketing campaign.

The anticipated awards were hotly contested by creative agencies across the North representing many of the UK’s best-loved brands.

The innovative company was recognised for the inspiring Tour de France video which was commissioned by Yorkshire Dales National Park and included Phil Liggett, ITV’s renowned cycle racing commentator.

The video was created to promote the Yorkshire Dales National Park as a recreational cycling destination, whilst showcasing its stunning scenery and local culture.

The 16 strong production team was made up of specialists who worked on high profile projects like Quantum of Solace, and alongside Keifer Sutherland on the new series of ‘24’, and Tom Hardy. The compelling video now has over 12, 500 YouTube hits from around the world, and are still growing.

David Jinks, producer and director for Fridge Productions said: “We were absolutely thrilled to have been shortlisted and acknowledged for the work we’ve done.

“The awards covered the whole of the commercial creative sector, with agencies from Manchester, across to Sheffield, right up to the border of Scotland.

“There were some very high profile advertising agencies represented, and the level of competition was extremely high. With online marketing from the likes of Sony, Astra Zeneca Pharmaceuticals, and Britvic, it was a privilege for us to feature amongst them.”

The awards, which were created by Prolific North and Don’t Panic Event Management, took place in Leeds, on Thursday 22nd January, in celebration of digital talent.

Fridge, which is expanding internationally, after filming in Austria and China, is currently shooting a series of documentaries in Syria and Lebanon which will be launched this year.
