As you all know, at Harvey & Hugo, we love nothing more than getting involved in anything social media.
Whether we’re sat in the office during the working day or relaxing at home on the sofa, social media is never far from our thoughts.
Of all the activities available to us, one of our all time favourites is connecting with people and businesses all over the North East and UK during #hours.
These ‘power hours’ – as they are called by some people – can help take your business to the next level with Twitter claiming they are one of the most, if not the most, active social networking events on the web.
This may be the first time you have come across #hours or you may regularly participate, either way, these top tips will come in useful next time you take part in one.
Tweet other users, mention them, retweet and generally be sociable. You’ll quickly see how friendly the Twitter community is and you’ll also get a nice surprise when business you didn’t think knew you existed get back in touch.
Use the hashtag
Make sure you type the hashtag with each tweet you are participating in. Whether it’s at the beginning, middle or end of your tweet, forgetting the hashtag defeats the whole point of being involved in the #hours.
Be friendly and make sure to offer information and advice rather than just hard selling. This will help build trust.
During the #hour, it’s recommended that you tweet every 5-10 minutes. This way you will keep a strong presence but without over doing it and flooding Twitter.
Stay on topic
Be consistent and try not to go off topic. It’s great to show your personality and people like to deal with people, but make sure to keep the conversation professional.
