Venture Properties, which has offices in Darlington, Cockerton Village, Chester-le-Street and Crook, will now operate an office in Durham, with plans to expand further afield.
The new branch, which opened this month, has employed three people growing the Venture Properties team to a total of 31 employees.
Michael O’Connor, director at Venture Properties spoke of the new endeavour: “I’m very excited about the future for Venture Properties. We’re expanding and opening more offices which has always been our ultimate goal.
“I put our success down to hard work. We’ve tried to do things that other companies weren’t doing by embracing technology and re-investing in ourselves heavily in keeping us at the forefront.”
Venture Properties’ Durham branch will be headed by Todd Armstrong who has 11 years of experience in the industry, and will be bringing qualified Venture Properties’ staff members to support the office.
Mr O’Connor added: “It’s great to see the company expanding. It’s been a real team effort and incredibly hard work as we opened during the economic downturn in 2008.
“A lot of people raised their eyebrows but we got stuck in and worked very hard. We wouldn’t be able to do this without the fabulous team we’ve got so they deserve a lot of credit.”
There are plans set in motion for another branch to open in County Durham but Mr O’Connor insisted the location had to be right.
Venture Properties, which has raised £8,000 for charity since its inception, has been named as MacMillan Cancer Support’s official charity fundraiser and will be participating in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on September 26th.
The business recently raised £10 for every property that it placed on the market in June, and is planning a five-a-side football match against another estate agent later in the year.
