A Teesside financial advice business has launched a series of free estate and retirement planning seminars which are set to benefit the local community.
Joslin Rhodes, based in Stockton, will host the first of many intimate events on Wednesday 26th August at the Treebridge Hotel in Middlesbrough. Locals are encouraged to book as soon as possible.
The estate planning seminar aims to help people within the local community make informed decisions to ensure their estate is protected and distributed in line with their wishes after they have gone. This usually surrounds power of attorney, inheritance tax, wills and care fees. People aged 60 and above are encouraged to attend from 2pm – 3.30pm.
Later on from 6pm – 7.30pm, the retirement planning seminar will mainly focus on calculating retirement funds and is aimed at people aged 50 and above. It will also touch upon the state pension and how it can improve lives before the age of 65, new pension freedoms, tax solutions, life savings and more.
Both events will consist of a ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?’ style interactive presentation and each attendee will have the opportunity to speak with a qualified financial planner about their own individual situation.
Speaking about the seminars, Karen Parker, operations manager at Joslin Rhodes, said: “We love getting out into the community and helping people understand what can be quite a complex area.
“Through these seminars we are hoping to dispel the common myths surrounding estate planning and help people live the lives they want to through a secure retirement plan.”
Following the first free seminars on Wednesday 26th August, the next are on Wednesday 16th September at Treebridge Hotel, Thursday 15th October at Gisborough Hall and Thursday 12th November and Wednesday 27th January at Preston Park.
