The restaurant, on the High Street, is the brainchild of entrepreneurs Howard Eggleston and Andy Drysdale and brings upmarket, pan-Asian cuisine to the town for the first time.
The restaurant’s VIP launch event was hugely popular and brought lucky ticket-holders from across the entire North East together over two nights to sample food and drink from the exotic menu.
Lotus Lounge, which is located above Hide Bar, serves up the creations of head chef Martin Moore – who formerly worked as head chef at Seaham Hall’s Ozone Pan Asian restaurant and was executive chef at luxury five star hotel Rockliffe Hall, near Darlington.
Matt Marriott, who previously managed The Keys and Osborne’s Bar in Yarm, said: “We want to create a fine dining, pan-Asian experience which is missing in Yarm, and we’re hoping that the success of the launch event will continue on to lots of bookings from guests both far and near.
“It’s really exciting to have finally launched the new venue and we believe it will become a leading light on the North East’s high-end restaurant circuit.”
Lotus Lounge provides diners with the chance to sample authentic dishes from across Asia in a relaxed setting featuring deep oak furniture, orchids and Buddha statues.
