New employee proves to be the full package for Peterlee-based Encore

North East packaging specialist, Encore Packaging Solutions, has employed an experienced sales manager as part of its future growth plans.

Newly appointed Carla Jelly, who brings extensive experience of the industry to the Peterlee-based Company, will help target new markets in the aim of building on a successful 2016.

Encore and its sister company, Encore Envelopes, the largest privately-owned printed envelope manufacturer in the UK, produce more than three billion items of packaging a year from factories in Peterlee and Washington, including corrugated and solid board boxes, direct mail packaging and e-commerce solutions.

Having worked across a range of departments within packaging in her previous role, Carla’s wealth of knowledge will prove considerably valuable as the Company is in the process of applying for the BRC Global Standard for Packaging, allowing it to expand its current offering and produce packaging for a variety of food items.

Speaking about her move to Encore, Carla said: “I’m delighted to have been offered the role at Encore and I am looking forward to using my knowledge and experience to help move the company forward and seeing how it grows.

“It’s an exciting time for the Company and I’m eager to begin building up relationships with current and future Encore customers, as we expand our service offerings over the next year.”

During the last 12 months, the Company, which was formed in 2006 following the merger of Washington Envelopes and York-based Encore Direct, has invested in a brand new £1.3m printing press and increased storage space following the relocation of Encore Packaging Solutions, to its new 73,000 sq ft premises at Peterlee.

“Taking Carla on is the first step of our continued growth,” said Managing Director, Russell Croisdale, who was recently elected as President of the European Federation of Envelope Manufacturers (FEPE).

“In 2016 we made significant appointments of key staff and these, coupled with the investment made in the factories, started to pay off for us, so it’s imperative we build on this now.

“The strength of our business is built on the knowledge and expertise of our workforce and Carla offers this across all areas of packaging.”
