North East accountancy firm Evolution LLP has stepped in to ensure the region’s businesses are prepared for new Pay as You Earn (PAYE) tax legislation which comes into force next month.
April 6th sees the launch of Real Time Information (RTI) system legislation which means employers will need to comply with strict new guidelines on submitting PAYE and NIC information to HMRC.
Ahead of the sweeping changes to the PAYE system, Tees Valley based Evolution will host an RTI workshop for Sage Payroll users to help North East businesses prepare for the new HMRC rules.
The event on March 28th will show attendees how to meet the demands of the new legislation which makes it mandatory for all employers to submit their PAYE and NIC information online to HMRC for every pay period, on or before each payment is made.
Evolution is well placed to offer advice on the new legislation as it was enlisted by HMRC last year as one of just 100 medium-sized employers in the UK to take part in a pilot of the scheme before being launched nationally.
Evolution took part in the pilot alongside 99 other firms who had between 49 and 249 employees and fed back its findings to HMRC to ensure that the RTI system was ready to be rolled out.
As well as assisting with the pilot, Evolution has also adapted its services to help clients of all sizes to comply with RTI when it is launched.
Joanne Ayre, Manager, at Evolution, said: “RTI relies on very accurate employee information and employers will need to have gathered all the data in advance and set each employee up on their payroll system before they can process their pay periods.
“As the new system will affect all employers, it will have a major impact on the way in which businesses process their payroll.”
Beverley Goodall, Manager at Evolution, added: “The new system is very different to the existing regime and businesses may no longer be able to manage their payroll processes, which have previously been done in-house.
“Any employer which currently uses a manual payroll system will no longer be able to do so once RTI has been introduced.”
Evolution, which is based in Wynyard, also provide a fully comprehensive payroll service with fixed fees and no hidden extras, making budgeting and cost management easier for its clients.
It also offers a BACS bureau service which means it is able to pay wages direct to its client’s employees, make PAYE/NIC payments direct to HMRC, as well as pay pension deductions direct to pension providers and attachment of earnings orders.
Places cost £60 plus VAT which includes a comprehensive Evolution RTI training manual for Sage Payroll. Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment. To book your place at the workshop on Thursday 28th March from 1pm to 2.30pm, visit: www.evolutionllp.com
