With the deadline for Making Tax Digital fast approaching, North West accounting and business advisory firms from the Baldwins group are offering free breakfast seminars to local businesses to help them prepare for the change.
CLB Coopers and Cassons, which have offices in Manchester, Lancaster, Bolton and Rossendale, are hosting five free breakfast seminars in locations throughout the North West, from February 5th to 14th, and all local firms are invited to attend.
Making Tax Digital is a Government initiative which will come into force for many UK businesses on April 1st, and aims to make tax administration more effective and efficient.
It will be compulsory for the majority of VAT-registered UK businesses and unincorporated companies with an annual turnover above the current VAT threshold of £85,000 to record and send their VAT information to HMRC digitally using Making Tax Digital-compatible software.
The seminars, which will take place in Lancaster, Bolton, Manchester and Rossendale, will be hosted by a Tax Director from one of the firms, along with a representative from Sage and Baldwins’ Head of Software Solutions, Steven Kuhn. The team will guide business people through the key changes and implications for companies, as well as the various developments and opportunities for cloud-based accounting.
Amanda Sayle, Tax Director at the Manchester office said: “It’s incredibly important for local companies to ensure they are prepared for the changes and that’s why we’ve decided to host these free seminars.
“We are always looking for ways to help North West businesses and I would encourage anyone who wants to find out what they need to do to prepare for Making Tax Digital, and also discover the benefits of using digital accounting software, to attend one of our seminars.”
The seminars will start at 8am and guests will enjoy a light breakfast on arrival before a presentation, networking and a Q&A session.
