North Yorkshire law firm celebrates first accreditation in the area

May 8, 2014

A North Yorkshire law firm is celebrating after being the first in its area to receive a new specialist quality accreditation from the Law Society.

Hunton & Garget, in Richmond, is the first law firm within 25 miles of its area to achieve the award under the Law Society’s Wills and Inheritance Quality Scheme

The accreditation provides a best quality mark for wills, probate and estate administration advice that clients can trust. It shows the firm follows best practice procedures to meet the highest standards of technical expertise and client service.

Hunton & Garget now proudly displays its certificate at the practice and the accreditation logo on its stationery.

Managing partner Stephen Garget, said: “We are delighted to achieve  this accreditation which is recognition of our expertise. To be the first in the area to receive it is testament to our client commitment.”

The accreditation is the first Law Society standard for tailored wills and probate advice. Those who do not choose an accredited practice risk leaving their loved ones in a legal minefield after their death, Hunton & Garget warns.

The scheme is robustly monitored and enforced to retain its credibility and integrity. Accredited firms must undertake mandatory training and at the end of each year be re-accredited to ensure they continue to meet the required standards.

The firm is also maintaining its innovative approach by installing a new conveyancing system, VirtualFirm, which will allow clients to login online anytime to check on the progress of their case. It will also send them text alerts when certain milestones are reached.

Stephen Garget said: “It is an excellent system which keeps us at the forefront of the sector in this age of instant communication.”

The firm already holds accreditation under the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme.

Hunton & Garget is presently recruiting another solicitor to meet increasing demand for its services and its modern approach is reflected in their training of an apprentice legal secretary.

The firm handles a wide range of legal matters including all property services, matrimonial and personal injury, wills, probate and estate administration .
