After a nine-year career in the Navy, Richard Jeffrey has now taken a new direction in managing solar panel supplier Synergy Solar’s new Durham and Sunderland franchise.
Richard will be running this franchise – which is expected to reach a turnover of £400,000 over the coming year – with two members of sales staff, although there are plans to add to the team as the business picks up over the coming months.
Synergy Solar chose Richard to manage its Durham and Sunderland franchise due to his 20 years of experience in running his own electrical mechanical contracting business.
His concern about the environment and desire to become a part of a growing industry attracted him to the Company, where he will be able to encourage the sales of renewable energy sources across the North East.
Richard said: “I’m really excited to be helping Synergy Solar to expand throughout the Durham and Sunderland areas.
“Renewable energy is such a clever and booming industry and it’s great to have been given the chance to take a completely new direction and play a part in it. I’m now looking forward to promoting green energy across the North East, hopefully expanding my franchise within the next couple of years and also helping to drive Synergy Solar forward as a whole.”
As part of its growth, Synergy Solar has also extended its range of services to cover several other areas of renewable energy technologies including solar thermal, biomass, air and ground source heat pumps, wind turbines and rainwater recovery.
Synergy Solar director Mashud Choudhury said: “As our business continues to expand, we want to give passionate individuals like Richard the chance to be involved with the firm. There are a lot of people currently looking to enter the renewable market and our comprehensive model enables them to do this.”
Managing director Steve Gaylor added: “The launch of our Durham and Sunderland franchise is another great step towards our long-term aim of operating in 40 territories throughout the UK. It also proves to us that our business sector and model is robust.”
While Synergy Solar largely supplies and installs technology for domestic projects, the Company is currently planning to grow its presence in the commercial sector.
