Harvey & Hugo is embarking on a mission to California where it will meet some of the world’s most forward-thinking agencies in terms of using social media to promote businesses.
The aim of the visit is to tap into the expertise of organisations on the cutting edge of digital marketing to learn new techniques which could greatly benefit the company’s clients.
Harvey & Hugo, which has offices in Darlington and Newcastle, was one of the first agencies to launch social media marketing services in the region and now has one of the biggest genuine social media followings in the sector.
But founder Charlotte Nichols is keen to ensure it remains plugged into the most advanced social media techniques and expertise available to benefit her existing and new clients.
She said: “American businesses are taking advantage of social media far more successfully than companies here and I want to bring what they are doing back to the North East to help our clients.
“We were one of the earliest adopters in the sector when we launched our Pay-as-Hugo social media marketing packages at a time when people said it was just a fad that would go away.
“It’s now one of our core services but I want to ensure that we stay way ahead of the game and have the very latest knowledge and expertise at our disposal.
“Many businesses in the North East are still missing out on the many opportunities that come with an expert social media strategy and our aim is to put that right.”
After a series of networking events and meetings with agencies in LA, Harvey & Hugo will head to San Francisco to meet with Anne Barlow of global marketing firm Peppercom.
The Harvey & Hugo team will also head to Las Vegas for Pubcon – the premier social media and optimisation conference and expo.
The trade visit to the West Coast of America is organised by UKTI and will be led by experienced international trade adviser Simon Crosby.
