Solar firm takes a Hull new direction

A North East renewable energy firm is celebrating on-going expansion with the launch of a new franchise covering the cities of Hull and York.

Solar panel supplier Synergy Solar’s new franchise, which is expected to achieve a turnover of £500,000 over the coming year, is the latest in a string of successful branch launches helping the Company to expand its reach across the UK.

This new franchise is being headed by director Sarah Mitton and her team of three, although she is hoping to appoint additional sales and installations staff members as the business takes off over the coming months.

As well as previously running her own newsagent’s, Sarah also possesses seven years of experience as a sales team leader which, combined with her concern for the environment, makes her the perfect choice to manage Synergy Solar’s new franchise.

Sarah said: “I’m really excited to be launching my own business within an industry that continues to grow despite the economic downturn.

“Not only am I interested in the future of the environment, but I feel it is necessary for everyone to be aware of renewable
energy technology, how affordable it is and the amazing difference that it makes to our environment. I’m hoping that running a franchise for both the Hull and York areas will help me to take this message to much larger audiences.”

As well as expanding its presence in the UK, Synergy Solar has also increased its services to cover additional areas of renewable energy technologies, including solar thermal, biomass, air and ground source heat pumps, wind turbines and rainwater harvesting.

Sarah is now looking forward to gaining accreditation in all of these areas to ensure that she can deliver the best possible service and help drive Synergy Solar forward over the next couple of years.

Synergy Solar director Mashud Choudhury said: “As our business expands, we want to give individuals like Sarah, who are passionate about renewable energy, the chance to be involved with our new developments. We’ve experienced some successful franchise launches so far and are hoping that many more people will be encouraged to get on board in the near future.”

Managing director Steve Gaylor added: “The opening of Sarah’s franchise is another great step towards our long-term aim of expanding into 40 territories throughout the UK, and it also adds to the evidence that our business sector and model is robust.”

Synergy Solar largely supplies and installs technology for domestic projects, but is now looking to grow its presence in the commercial sector as well.
