A North Yorkshire based anaerobic digestion company is celebrating after winning a prestigious award at the Tees Valley Best New Business Awards 2013.
JFS & Associates Ltd were the winner of the PD Ports sponsored environment category, fighting off six other regional businesses in the category.
This award win comes off the back of securing over £40 million of project funding to be used over the next 18 months, including a local project at Dalton in North Yorkshire, worth £3.5 million.
Colin Brown, founder and organiser of the Tees Valley Best New Business Awards took part in the judging process and commented: “The board was impressed in the potential growth outlined by JFS & Associates Ltd in their application and were keen to reward the business for their quick growth over the last 12 months.”
The flourishing renewable energy firm was acknowledged for its achievements and scored highly in the future prospects and quality of service criteria the awards annually assess.
The company set up in 2011 and the business continues to develop partnerships with landowners and farmers to provide a bespoke anaerobic digestion solution for farms and business within the North East and beyond and hopes to see the business increase significantly this year as more plants are commissioned.
Peter Johnson, director at JFS & Associates Ltd commented: “We are thrilled to have won this award, it is a testament to our team and hard work and it is great to be recognised as a future industry leader by the awards.
“We know the service we offer our clients is second to none. Having specific project and cost management services and creating bespoke schemes in-house allows us to use our specialised knowledge within the farming community and to continue to develop the business in the future.”
As part of JFS & Associates Ltd business plan, it aims to build, own and operate 25+ plants in five years, representing a 2.5% market share of the government target of 1000 operational plants by 2020.
